Iona Speaking at Learnining Solutions – “Managing Stakeholders”
Most e-Learning projects involve many stakeholders and approval levels. It seems like everyone from marketing to legal, to HR, to operations must weigh in on even the most basic of courses. How do you get your project from concept to completion when there are too many cooks in the kitchen, all with different agendas and various levels of experience creating e-Learning?
Establishing the right expectations and processes can be the difference between a project that goes way over budget, takes forever to complete, and is boring, and a project that is on time, on budget, and embodies good learning practices.
John Feser and Jeff Idleman will be presenting a session on Managing Stakeholders March 25 in Orlando, FL at the eLearning Guild’s Learning Solutions Conference. To paraphrase Jeff’s favorite guru, “Managing stakeholders is the cause of and solution to all of life’s problems.”

Hacking Robots for Fun and Profit
This is a fun one! Learn how to hack up robots you can buy at a local toy store. You’ll see the methods used to take the video stream out of the robot and turn it into a format Flash likes. You’ll get the lowdown on how to send API commands to control the bot. We’ll show you how to connect it to alternative controllers and use ActionScript for some simple color detection on the video stream. There are a lot of other robotics coming to market now and most have some public facing APIs just ripe for hacking, come get some insight in how to get started and have fun!
You really do not want to miss this!
No commentsSpeaking at D2WC: Developers are from Mars, Designers are from Venus
D2WC is a new conference in Kansas City, MO. The Iona Group is proud to be part of their inaugural event. The conference will take place from June 19-20. From their website:
Workflow is something we all do, day in and day out – although you may not even think about it. Do you work with multiple applications during the day? Do you work with team members, departments, clients, etc.? Improving those workflows is what D2W is all about.
We have 3 tracks, with 60-minute sessions. Sign up as a designer, developer, or as a hybrid of both. In addition to the sessions centering around workflow, there’ll be several biz-type sessions for Web professionals.
Chad Udell will be presenting on Designer Developer Collaboration and Workflow. Beleive it or not, he doesn’t have any code at all in this presentation. Sign up at their site, the rest of the speaker list is really impressive.
